Xscape Returns To Essence Festival

The recently reunited ladies of Xscape returned to this year’s Essence Festival and turned it out with a well-received performance at the annual New Orleans-hosted event.

This was the ladies’ first trip back to the Big Easy as a quartet since finally burying all those old grudges from years and years ago.

Yesterday’s Xscape performance was also their first in New Orleans since last year’s superlounge debacle, when the group was mistakenly set up in a tiny, undersized lounge that ended up leaving hundreds of the group’s fans jammed up in hallways, undoubtedly looking crazy, outside the performance.

The group apologized to fans over the incident, which was also featured on the group’s 2017 reality TV show, Xscape: Still Kickin’ It.

But there was nothing to apologize for in 2018, because fans in attendance took to social media to say the ladies brought down the house.

Fans were also thrilled that the ladies are still holding it down, talent and look-wise–but also holding it down as a group: last year, Kandi Burruss vowed she was done with the band because of past issues she said she felt weren’t being dealt with.

Her decision prompted the group to earlier this year rename their outfit “XSCAPE3”.

But clearly, these ladies are at their best when they are all the way together.

Kandi told Nola.com that its the love of the fans that helps keep them performing.

“I feel like the fact that when we get out on the stage, and the love from the fans, that’s what makes us wanna do more shows together”, Kandi offered.

Now let’s hope that some dope new Xscape music is coming super soon.
