Rapper YG Accused Of Snatching Fan’s Chain, Now Charged With Robbery

Rapper YG is charged with robbery after a man who was denied a selfie with the Compton rapper claims the rapper snatched the chain from around his neck and took off with it.

Vegas police tell us … the incident went down in late May at the Cosmopolitan around 4 AM, after a man approached YG and asked for a pic but was turned away by his crew. We’re told the guy told YG he’s not a real celeb … and casino’s surveillance footage shows YG retaliating by yanking a chain off his neck.

We’re told the chain fell to the ground, and YG is then seen on video picking up the necklace pendant — valued somewhere between $3,000 and $9,000 — before taking off.–TMZ

YG, real name Keenon Daequan Ray Jackson, should have asked O.J. Simpson about Nevada and robbery charges: the acquitted knife handler was sentenced to 9-33 1/2 years on a robbery case himself. He was released from custody last year.

The victim has also filed suit, claiming YG directed his goons to deliver a beatdown before the chain was snatched.

Some fans accused YG’s camp of creating a publicity stunt with the unusual arrest, as some have alleged on social media: the rapper’s 4th album, Stay Dangerous, is set to drop in a few weeks.

YG was released on $20,000 bail.
