‘Orange Is The New Black’ Releases Season 6 Trailer

Netflix’s popular show ‘Orange Is The New Black’ lost me a couple of seasons ago, when they decided to kill off Poussey.

Since then, I couldn’t even get past 5 minutes of the show–it seemed too dull and unrealistic.

But the groundbreaking show, which is still reportedly doing numbers for now, is supposed to be turning some new corners in the sixth season so I might take a glance.

But again, at this point, I’m the wrong one to bring you up to speed on what the hell has been happening on the show so I’ll drop in Comingsoon.net’s analysis below.

In season five of the Netflix series, a riot sparked by Poussey’s death quickly escalates when the inmates gain control of the prison. Once they get a taste of power, chaos erupts in the halls of Litchfield. The events of the three-day riot left the inmates’ lives forever changed as they fought for redemption, resolution, and the respect they deserve, ending with personal triumphs as well as heavy consequences as inmates were ultimately loaded into buses, separated, and taken away to new prisons.

Picking up one week after the emergency response team stormed Litchfield Penitentiary, the ladies of Litch have been torn apart, literally and figuratively, as they enter a new facility in the sixth season of Orange Is The New Black. Now newbies, they must navigate new rules and power dynamics, starting at the bottom, and getting hazed by inmates and tortured by guards. Friendships will be tested and new allegiances formed — some by choice and others by circumstance — as the women face a slew of charges from the riot. Will they take plea deals and turn on each other or band together and keep their bonds intact?

The sixth season premieres on the streaming network on July 27.
