Master P Reacts To News That C-Murder Is On A Prison Hunger Strike

In tonight’s episode of WE tv’s Growing Up Hip Hop, Percy “Master P.” Miller finds out his brother, Corey “C-Murder” Miller, is on a prison hunger strike.

In the following clip, P talks to his son, Romeo Miller, about C-Murder’s decision to strike over the notoriously terrible conditions at the Angola State Prison–considered one of the nation’s worst penitentiaries. P gets the news from his sister via a telephone call, and it clearly upsets him.

The call prompts P to reflect on his brother’s case, his life, and their infamously strained relationship.

C-Murder’s hunger strike was widely publicized back in February.

The two brothers helped make No Limit Records a powerhouse label in the 1990s. But after C was arrested on a murder charge, and sent away for life, C claimed Master P was not offering him any assistance.

Meanwhile, in interviews, P seemed to suggest C’s personal choices led to him being incarcerated.

In recent times, however, P has spoken out about C’s case, and his hope that his brother is released.

C-Murder is currently serving a life sentence for the 2002 nightclub murder of 16 year old Steven Thomas.

But a prosecution witness recently came forward to recant testimony he offered at trial pinning the murder on C, and C’s attorney has since filed a motion seeking a new trial.

Growing Up Hip Hop airs on Thursdays at 9:00 pm ET/PT.
